    Sotran is a business in the Furniture industry that trades in retail and eCommerce.
  2. Delivery policy
    Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 5 days and delivery confirmed by way of courier, freight or delivery by Sotran vehicles.
    Free pick-up from Sotran stores is available for both online and in-store purchases.
    Sotran offers nationwide delivery within South Africa.
    Free deliveries are only valid if the “free delivery” promotion is active currently and it will only apply to locations within the set our areas (example: Gauteng)
    Any manipulations of the delivery location or website software could result in the full cost being billed to the client.
    Deliveries collected from our stores must be confirmed to be ready for collection before collecting, as we may have to move stock to the selected branch before the client can collect. This is very important if collecting from our Fourways branch.
    All small items will be delivered via a 3rd party courier service.
    Most large furniture items for delivery outside Gauteng will be delivered by a 3rd party delivery service.
  3. Export Restrictions
    The offering on this website is available to South African clients. We do sell to other countries, but we do not offer delivery/exports to other countries. These must be arranged by the client and collected from a Sotran branch.
  4. Return & Refunds Policy
    The provision of goods by Sotran is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Sotran will refund the client in full within 30 days. Cancellation of orders by the client will attract a 10% administration fee.
    Exchanges for online purchases can be arranged within 7 days of purchase date under certain conditions.
    Delivery charges are not refundable unless Sotran is at fault.
    Furniture purchases carry a one year guarantee for manufacturing faults and may be subject to wear and tear value deduction in the case of long-term replacements.
    Mattresses, couches and upholstered chairs have different warranties specific to each product.
  5. Accuracy Of Website Content
    All reasonable steps are taken to ensure that the information on our website is accurate and up-to-date. We do not, however, warrant that the content or information displayed is always accurate, complete and/or current. Errors: We shall take all reasonable efforts to accurately indicate prices and delivery charges. However, should products be incorrectly offered at incorrect prices and/or delivery charges, We will not be obliged to sell products at such incorrect prices and/or delivery charges, but shall refund monies paid by you should you not wish to proceed with the purchase at the correct price and/or delivery charge.
  6. Customer Privacy policy
    Sotran shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA).   7. Payment Options Accepted
    Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard, Diners or American Express Cards or by bank transfer into the Sotran bank account, the details of which will be provided on request.
  8. Card Acquiring & Security
    Card transactions will be acquired for Sotran via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. DPO PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
  9. Customer Details & Card Details
    Customer details required for the transaction and delivery will be stored by Sotran separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate, PayFast or Payflex secure site. For more detail on DPO PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za.
  10. Merchant Outlet Country & Transaction Currency
    The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
  11. Responsibility
    Sotran takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.
  12. Country Of Domicile
    This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Sotran chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature.
  13. Variation
    Sotran may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.

“Order Only” or “Available On Backorder”

Products that are available on “Order Only” or “Available On Backorder” are not currently in stock, they are either ordered but have not yet arrived or can be ordered from the supplier once purchased.
PLEASE NOTE: 4 to 6-month waiting period will apply on most backorder items. The only exceptions are all mattresses and most upholstered couches.

Listed prices will change when ordering a product that is not currently in stock as the Rand/USD exchange rate and shipping cost change daily and affect pricing.

Product Listing Details
Pictures are “reference only” and may not be of the actual product, most of our products are hand-made unique items any may differ from the pictures slightly.
Sizes may also differ slightly – bigger or smaller +- 5cm on small items and +- 20cm on large furniture because items are handmade.

Shipping Online Purchases:

  • Courier: Small items (less than 15 kg/vol) purchased online will be shipped via courier to your door. dispatch is within 3 business days and delivery takes 1 – 5 business days depending on the delivery location (Gauteng – 1-3 days / remote areas – up to 5 days)
  • Delivery: Sotran can deliver large items in the Gauteng area with our own delivery vehicles, the cost for delivery in Gauteng is based on the “delivery distance” from our Boksburg warehouse.
  • Delivery (Outside Gauteng): Freight services are used to deliver large items purchased online, the website gives an estimated cost upon checkout to deliver to all provinces outside Gauteng (please note: delivery cost outside Gauteng may vary from the online estimate)
  • Collection: Clients can collect their online purchases from any of our Sotran branches, your order will be ready for collection at the Boksburg branch within 48 hours or at the Design Quarter store within 7 business days after successful purchase unless otherwise informed

  • Remote Area Delivery Available, calculated at checkout based on location & items purchased (14 business days after quality checking)

  • Quality Checking: Some products may need to be assembled for quality checking, this may take up to 14 days, especially beds and our classic range. This may add an additional 14 days before the delivery process is started.

Refund Policy:

  • Refunds: Sotran doesn’t do cash refunds unless goods are faulty – exchanges can be arranged within 7 days of purchase date under certain conditions. Original purchase slip will be required.
  • Online Purchases: Items bought online without prior viewing can be exchanged within a 14-day period with Proof of Purchase documentation. Shipping costs are not refundable.
  • Defects: Return of stock merchandise due to a manufacturing defect must be authorised by head office. This takes a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 30 working days.
  • Exchanges and appro’s may attract a 10% handling fee under certain circumstances.
  • In-store clients – please inspect all accessories purchased before removing them from the store. Defects not detected before leaving may not be acknowledged.
  • Delivery charges are not refundable unless Sotran is at fault.
  • Guarantee: Furniture purchases carry a one-year guarantee for manufacturing faults and may be subject to wear and tear value reduction in the case of long-term replacements.
  • Returns & Exchanges
  • A) Since all our items are hand-crafted, they are subject to variations from item to item.
  • Please examine your selections carefully to ensure satisfaction with their condition before you
  • purchase.
  • You may point out and variances to be rectified which must me noted on the original invoice.
  • B) Items may be returned for credit or exchange within 7 days, if the following criteria has been met:
  • Items in original condition as when purchased.
  • Original Invoice is produced.
  • C) Items for exchange to be collected from Clients premises at Clients expense.
  • D) Items ascertained to have experienced non-abusive product failure or posing a definite safety
  • hazard will be evaluated by Sotran Management and one of the following actions taken:
  • Item will be collected, repaired and returned at Sotrans expense.
  • If inappropriate, item will be replaced at Sotrans expense.
  • If unreasonable wear and tear is suspected, Sotran will quote to repair at Clients expense.
  • E) Refunds will only be considered under extreme situations and, if approved, attract a 15% handling
  • fee, taking up to 7 working days to be approved.
  • 2) Goods Storage and Deliveries
  • A) Goods stored/uncollected for over 30 days will attract an R250 per cube per month storage fee and
  • may be transported off-site to make way for new goods arrivals.
  • B) Goods stored/uncollected without permission for over 3 months may be resold to cover storage
  • charges.
  • C) Deliveries of complex wooden furniture may take up to 14 days from order, depending on the
  • Workshop backlog.
  • Your Sales Rep will contact you to book a delivery date once its assured the goods have been fully
  • pre-assembled, checked and serviced, ready for their new home!
  • 3) Goods Sold on Sale or on Discounted Promotions
  • No returns or repairs, no reserves without full payment, VOETSTOOTS strictly applies

3-Year Warranty clause:

Congratulations on your choice of Sotran’s wooden furniture! We take pride in providing high-quality, durable pieces that are designed to stand the test of time. To demonstrate our commitment to your satisfaction, we offer a comprehensive 3-year warranty on all our wooden furniture items.

Warranty Coverage:
During the warranty period, Sotran warrants that our wooden furniture products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service.

Repairing damaged items:
In the unlikely event that your furniture item requires repair due to a manufacturing defect within the warranty period, Sotran will, at its sole discretion, repair the defective part or product.

Logistic Fees:
For customers residing outside a 30km radius of our Boksburg workshop, Sotran is pleased to extend our warranty coverage; however, please note that transportation costs associated with collecting and redelivering the repaired or replaced item shall be the responsibility of the customer. This includes but is not limited to logistic fees, packaging, and any other associated expenses.

Fair Use Policy:
We believe in fair and reasonable usage of our furniture items. The warranty does not cover damages resulting from:

1. Misuse or abuse of the furniture.
2. Exposure to extreme conditions, including but not limited to excessive moisture, heat, or direct sunlight.
3. Normal wear and tear, including scratches, dents, and stains.
4. Modifications or alterations made to the original purchased product.

Please ensure that you carefully follow the care and maintenance instructions provided or informed by a sales representative with your furniture to maximize its lifespan and performance.

Claiming Warranty:

To initiate a warranty claim, please contact our customer service team at info.sotran@gmail.com with proof of purchase and a detailed description of the issue. We will work diligently to assess and address your claim promptly.
