Caring for solid mango wood and iron

Solid mango wood is a durable hardwood, but the iron door detailing and the daily-use TV unit context benefit from the right care routine.

Dust the mango wood surfaces regularly with a soft cloth, paying attention to the grain depressions where dust gathers. Wipe spills immediately with a damp cloth, then dry the surface, since prolonged moisture against the wood can lift the natural fibres and dull the finish.

Wax twice yearly with Woodoc Interior Wax to maintain the warm natural brown character and add a light protective layer. Apply sparingly with a soft cloth, working with the grain rather than against it. The natural variation in the timber should be allowed to read clearly, so avoid building up wax in the recessed areas.

For the iron door detailing and frame, wipe with a soft dry cloth to remove dust. The iron is finished for long-term durability, but avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could affect the protective coating. Light cleaning with a barely-damp cloth is sufficient for normal household marks.
