FAQ

Is the boat wood genuinely reclaimed?
Yes. The timber is salvaged from old Indonesian fishing boats at the end of their working life, then integrated into a new bedside form. The character marks, weathering, and grain variation in each piece come from the wood's original use at sea rather than artificial distressing applied to new timber.

What height bed does the Laguna suit?
At 70cm tall, the Laguna suits standard divan-base beds where the top of the mattress sits 55 to 65cm from the floor. For low-profile platform beds where the mattress sits below 55cm, a shorter pedestal from the same IKD range is the better fit.

Is the white wash finish identical on every Laguna?
The base form and the finish style are consistent across pieces, but the white wash distribution varies between units, since the application is hand-applied. The character marks in the underlying boat wood also differ from piece to piece. The base character stays consistent, but the individual pattern of paint and timber details differs from one to the next.

How much storage do the two drawers actually hold?
The two stacked drawers handle standard bedside content. The top drawer suits daily essentials (reading glasses, phone, watch), and the bottom drawer suits books, journals, or seasonal items. For households needing more compartmentalised storage, a three-drawer pedestal from the same IKD range is the better fit.

Will the white wash chip with use?
The distressed finish is already weathered as part of the styling intent, so light surface wear over years of use adds to the weathered character rather than degrading the piece. Heavier impact or scrubbing can damage the original finish, but normal household contact and routine use do not affect it.

Can I use it outdoors or on a covered patio?
No, the pedestal is designed for indoor use only. The white wash finish is not weather-rated for sustained outdoor placement, and the reclaimed wood would deteriorate under outdoor exposure to rain and sun cycles.
