Mandala White Washed Teak Chest

Q: Where does the Mandala White-Washed Teak Chest work best in a home?
A: The 80cm long, 50cm deep, 60cm tall proportions make this chest highly versatile. In a bedroom, it functions beautifully as a bedside chest for larger beds where a standard pedestal feels undersized, or as a compact dresser for linens and wardrobe items. In an entryway, it works as a statement console for keys, mail and personal essentials, with the mandala carving becoming an immediate welcoming decorative moment. In a lounge or dining room, it holds its own as a decorative storage accent against a feature wall. It suits Beach Cottage, coastal, Modern Tropical, organic-modern and Bohemian interiors particularly well.

Q: What makes each Mandala Chest unique?
A: The chest is meticulously handcrafted from solid sustainable teak, with the intricate floral mandala detail hand-etched into both drawer fronts by skilled artisans. The weathered white-wash finish is applied by hand, highlighting the delicate curves and depth of the artisanal carvings. Because each mandala is hand-carved and each white-wash finish hand-applied, natural teak grain variation, slight carving distribution differences and unique white-wash absorption mean no two chests are identical. Every piece is a genuinely one-of-a-kind work of artisan furniture.

Q: How do I care for the white-washed finish and hand-carved detailing?
A: Wipe the surface gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Use a soft, dry brush or vacuum brush attachment to gently lift dust from the hand-carved mandala detail across the drawer fronts. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners and prolonged direct sunlight, all of which can dry the teak and dull the white-wash finish. Take extra care around the notched corner feet and carved surfaces. Natural grain variation, slight variation in the white-wash absorption and hand-etched carving differences are defining features of the piece's authentic artisan character rather than defects.

Q: The chest shows "Available on Backorder" — what does this mean, and what warranty and delivery apply?
A: This piece is currently on backorder, which means we can accept your order now but the piece will need to be shipped in from our next container arrival. Our team will confirm the estimated availability window at order confirmation, and you will be updated on progress through to delivery. The chest carries the standard 3-year warranty applicable to all Sotran Dekorativ solid wooden furniture.
