Solar Sideboard

Q: Where does the Solar Sideboard work best in a home?
A: At 180cm long, 50cm deep and 82cm tall, the Solar is a substantial statement piece designed to anchor a room with real presence. In a dining room, it functions beautifully as a formal sideboard for glassware, table linens and serving pieces. In a living room, it works as a feature wall anchor for concealed AV storage with decorative styling on the surface. In an entryway or wide hallway, the striking sunburst front and gold accents create an immediate welcoming statement. The bold black and gold palette suits modern boho, art deco, industrial-chic, black-and-gold and eclectic interiors particularly well.

Q: What makes each Solar Sideboard unique?
A: The signature feature is the intricate sunburst pattern hand-carved across the front, complemented by hand-applied gold detailing that highlights the depth of the carving. Because each sunburst is individually carved and each gold accent hand-applied, natural carving detail differences, slight variations in gold placement, and unique tonal shifts in the black wood finish mean every Solar sideboard carries its own distinct character. The sleek gold metal legs and centred gold circular handles complete the sophisticated black-and-gold statement.

Q: How do I care for the black finish, hand-carved detail and gold accents?
A: Wipe the surface gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth to lift dust and light marks, then dry immediately. Use a soft, dry brush or vacuum brush attachment to lift dust from the hand-carved sunburst detail where a cloth cannot reach. For the gold detailing, handles and metal legs, wipe with a soft dry cloth to preserve the finish; avoid abrasive cleaners which can dull the gold surface. Avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged direct sunlight, which can dry the wood and dull the black finish. Natural variations in the hand-carved sunburst and gold accent placement are defining features of the piece's authentic artisan character rather than defects.

Q: What warranty and delivery does the Solar Sideboard come with?
A: The Solar carries the standard 3-year warranty applicable to all Sotran Dekorativ solid wooden furniture. Delivery is nationwide across South Africa with an estimated window of 4 to 10 business days. The sideboard arrives fully assembled with no assembly required. Given the substantial 180cm length and solid wood construction, larger freight delivery applies, and our team will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery time. Access considerations (doorway clearance, long carry distances) are worth flagging when arranging delivery. Collection is also available from our Boksburg HQ, Fourways (Design Quarter) and Somerset West stores.
