FAQ

Is each GRC Yoga Lady identical?
The base form and pose are consistent across pieces, but the individual character varies. Small differences in the matte black finish depth and the distressed gold patina detailing appear between hand-finished units, since GRC pieces are individually cast and finished by hand.

What does the pose and gesture represent?
The figure is in Sukhasana, the foundational seated meditation pose used across yoga and Buddhist traditions. The hands are raised in Anjali Mudra, the prayer gesture that represents reverence, gratitude, and mindfulness, used in the namaste greeting and as a centring element in meditation practice.

Can I use it outdoors or on a covered patio?
Yes, GRC handles outdoor placement well in covered or sheltered positions. For fully exposed positions in high-rainfall areas, an annual application of outdoor stone or concrete sealer extends the life of the patina finish.

Will the gold finish fade in sunlight?
The distressed gold patina may gradually soften in tone under sustained UV exposure over years. Indoor positioning or covered outdoor placement preserves the patina depth for longer than fully exposed direct-sun positions.

How heavy is it?
GRC at this scale is heavy. Two people make repositioning easier, particularly for moves between indoor and outdoor positions. The weight is part of why the sculpture stays exactly where placed and reads as proper sculptural presence rather than as a lightweight decor accessory.

Is GRC the same as solid concrete?
No. GRC is concrete reinforced with glass fibres, which makes it stronger than solid concrete at the same weight and allows for finer cast detail. It also handles outdoor weather exposure better than plain concrete, with less surface chipping and weather degradation over time.
