How does the stacking work?
The chair frame is engineered to nest vertically with other Iver chairs, allowing multiple armchairs to be stacked in a column for compact storage when not in use. The stackable construction suits hospitality contexts (restaurants, function venues, boardrooms) where flexible seating capacity needs to be expandable and storable, and also suits home dining contexts where extra armchairs are brought out for guests and returned to storage afterwards.
What does "form-fitting slatted backrest" mean?
The backrest uses curved slats rather than a flat vertical panel, with the curve following the natural shape of the seated lumbar and upper back. The slatted construction provides back support across the seated height while keeping the chair visually light, with the form-fitting curve contributing comfort during extended dining sessions where flat-back chairs would become tiring.
What are the cross-brace support bars?
Heavy-duty cross-brace support bars are structural bars built directly beneath the seat slab, providing structural rigidity to the chair. The cross-bracing is what allows the chair to stack vertically while still holding seated weight without flexing, distinguishing well-built stackable chairs from lightweight stackable alternatives.
Can the chair be used outdoors?
The chair is suited to upscale covered veranda areas as confirmed on the product page. Solid Indonesian teak is naturally durable and resistant to moisture, but the chair is designed for covered outdoor use rather than full uncovered exposure. For fully exposed outdoor placement, sustained UV and weather exposure may affect the natural finish over time.
Does it require assembly?
No assembly required. The chair arrives as a completed, stable freestanding piece.
Is each chair identical?
The base form (62 × 57 × 81cm scale, curved slatted backrest, contoured armrests, cross-brace support) is consistent across pieces in the supplier batch. Natural variations in the teak grain mean each chair carries subtle individual character, with the rich structural oil grains showing differently across each piece. The variation reads as authentic solid teak craft rather than manufacturing inconsistency.
Does Sotran deliver nationwide?
Yes, with nationwide South African delivery in 4 to 10 business days. Collection from Boksburg, Fourways, or Somerset West can also be arranged.

Delivery costs are calculated at checkout based on the size, weight, and delivery location of your order. Larger furniture items may require freight delivery and will be quoted accordingly.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a notification with delivery details. Our team may also contact you to confirm delivery arrangements for larger furniture items.
Please inspect your items upon delivery. If any item arrives damaged, notify us within 24 hours of delivery by contacting our customer service team with photos of the damage. We will assess the issue and arrange a repair, replacement, or solution where applicable.
Most furniture items are delivered fully assembled, unless otherwise stated on the product page. If assembly is required, this will be clearly indicated in the product description.
For larger furniture deliveries, our team will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery time. If delivery cannot be completed due to absence, additional delivery fees may apply.
Standard delivery is to the entrance of the premises. If access is difficult (stairs, narrow doorways, long distances, etc.), please notify us beforehand so we can advise accordingly.

Orders are dispatched within 3 business days. Delivery for small items (under 15kg/vol) takes 1–5 business days, depending on your location.

You may also collect your order from Sotran Boksburg, Design Quarter (Fourways), or Sotran Somerset West (Cape Town) once availability at the branch has been confirmed.
Weekend collections must be arranged during the week to ensure your order is prepared.
